Isabelle Gaborit and Cassandra Dorer RE-VEILING
Feb 16th - March 13th 2008
A veil conceals, a veil reveals. A veil covers and because of its elusice nature it requires the viewer to stop, look and see what is hidden or appears
to be hidden. The theme of the "veil" bears several layers of meaning. In their work, Dorer and Gaborit explore the concept of veiling from two different
perspectives. Their works invite the viewer to enter their space.

James O'Dowd JOURNEY
November 10th - December 12th 2007
Dublin based artist James' cityscape based paintings have been described as dark and mysterious. His work deals with aspects of the unconscious mind and how
they relate to the outside world and touches on themes of neurosis and alienation.
This exhibition will show O'Dowd's most recent work which has taken on a looser more vibrant stlye, alongside some older pieces making it possible to see
the artist's progression or journey. This progression is also an attempt to represent a journey into the unconscious mind.
"as the viewer descends the staircase to the lower level of the gallery where the paintings are looser, I want them to feel that they are witnessing
a journey into the mind, almost like descending into some sort of madness"

"The piano as subject matter was very prominent in my 1st and 2nd musical exhibitions, so it is no surprise that it has been playing away in my subconscious
. As an artist I like to work from the imagination, to realise the dream, be it in oil or pastel or bronze. Art and music are two of life's enduring pleasures

Laura Canavan Doyle NEW PAINTINGS
April 28th - May 24th 2007
Canavan Doyle uses the simplicity of a patchwork like design. She has developed an abstract language that is intricate, at times
decorative but always complex. Each segment is meticulously developed into complex and ornate walls of colour. It reflects
how the microscopic has such a profound effect upon the whole.
-"..This work holds for me a revelation that life is in the detail" Canavan Doyle
Laura has had previous solo shows in The Globe, George's St and also The Signal Arts Centre, Wicklow
Liz Pomeroy
EVERYTHING IS ILLUMIATED
March 24th - April 24th 2007
This exhibition reflects the passing of time. All paintings are oil and mixed media on canvas.
The compositions are based on studies of forms relating to time such as a sun dial and from these, a variety of symbols were developed and then reduced to basic shapes.
The application of paint is predominantly a process of mass application of a base colour, left to dry for a week or more, a top colour added and then subtracted
using white spirits, with added colour glazes for depth and subtlety. In effect, a reflection of the complexities of human emotions and relationships.
Liz Pomeroy graduated from NCAD, she also performs with the band, House of Cosy Cushions.
Bartosz Kolata NEW WORK
February 17th- March 17th 2007
Bartosz moved permanently to Dublin last year after completing his Masters Degree in Art Conservation and Restoration in Torun, Poland.
His painting career began when friends asked him to paint their portraits. Influenced by the techniques of the old masters which he had learned about extensively,
he has developed his own unique and captivating style. His paintings are beautiful snapshots of private, un-premeditated moments which make the viewer
seem almost voyeuristic.
