Jody Trehy is a songwriter who draws on the rich tradition of cabaret and musicals. On Friday March 26th he will be performing a selection from his extensive back catalogue in the cosy, candle-lit surroundings of the Mill Theatre Studio, Dundrum. Having gigged as a singer-songwriter throughout Ireland & UK, he has also written for the stage. His debut show, "How I Failed To Become A Popstar, The Musical", was nominated for Dublin Fringe Theatre Festival's Sexiest Show award. 2009 saw the full production of "Eejit Of Love", a brand new musical comedy writtern by Jody. It was enthusiastically received by audiences in the Pavilion Theatre, Dublin and the Samuel Beckett Theatre (Trininty College, Dublin). On record, he has independently produced two well-received EPs and a full-length album of songs entitled "Promise". His show in the Mill Theatre will be a chance to hear him singing the best of his songs accompanied by new arrangements for piano. Aisling Quinn will be suporting on the night, playing a selection of her songs which have been favourably compared with Joni Mitchell and Carol King. Originally from Galway Aisling moved to Dublin in 2002 to complete a years course in music production. She went on to release her demo in 2004 to positive reviews. In the following years Aisling began to expand her range of instruments and her follow-up EP, "A Simple Arrangement" released in 2007 showcased her on piano, vocals, flute and also on occassion, violin. With plans to release her debut album later this year Aisling is currently back recording in the studio.
